I have some news that many people have a hard time believing: Many people suffer from tooth decay without even knowing it! It’s true.

Many think that you need to have a painful toothache to be suffering from tooth decay…

Well, I hate to burst their bubble, but this is a very common misconception!

The truth is that many, many Americans have tooth decay and don’t even realize it because in it’s early stages, tooth decay is relatively painless!

Tooth decay is one of the most common health complaints, second only to the common cold.

And in fact, recent studies show that approximately 90% of Americans have at least one cavity – the result of advanced tooth decay!

As a dentist who has treated countless patients with advanced tooth decay, I can tell you that in most of these cases the root canals, fillings, and tooth removal that came as a result of advanced tooth decay could have been prevented!

Would you like to find out how?  I urge you to read on….

My name is Dr. Last. I’m a dentist right here in City1 and I literally observe and battle hidden, undetected tooth decay on a daily basis for my patients. Here’s a question for you…

“What If Someone Told You That YOU Have Early Signs of Tooth Decay?

Hereís how you can tell

In a nutshell, tooth decay is the destruction of tooth enamel, which is the exterior layer of the teeth.

Tooth enamel is a protective barrier designed by nature to protect your teeth against harmful bacteria, infections, and other damage.

But your enamel becomes compromised when plaque – a natural bacteria in the mouth – is allowed to build up along the gum line and in between the teeth.

Left to sit over time, plaque turns harmful and begins to eat away at your tooth enamel… essentially opening the door for harmful bacteria to come on in and begin destroying your teeth from the inside out.

Tooth decay can develop slowly, taking months…or even years to turn into a full-blown cavity.

And because we all carry bacteria in our mouths, we’re ALL at risk for tooth decay or cavities.

But how can you tell if tooth decay has already “taken root” in your mouth?

Sometimes the symptoms of tooth decay are obvious…

Some patients come to see me because they’re suffering from a painful toothache that just won’t quit. Other times, patients complain that they feel extremely sensitive to hot and cold food or liquids…

… And both of these situations are clear symptoms that some tooth decay is in effect.

In more advanced cases, tooth decay shows itself as visible white spots on the surface of the teeth.

And in extremely advanced stages of tooth decay, a patient may actually notice small pits or holes in the teeth.

But because the early stages of tooth decay are usually relatively painless, most patients don’t even know they have a problem until a random check-up at the dentist’s office.

And a lot of the time, the pulp of the tooth is already infected, leaving the only treatment options to be a root canal, a filling, or removal of the “bad” tooth altogether

… And nobody wants THAT!

“Do You Have Children? Tooth Decay… It’s Not Just For Adults!”

Did you know that 75% of Americans had their first cavity by the age of five?

If you have children, you may be surprised to hear this…

The majority of children that are still bottle fed after the age of one year are very likely to have tooth decay.

Unfortunately it’s true, and it’s a result of infants being put to bed with a bottle containing something sweet liquids like juices… and even milk and baby formula!

The sugars contained in these liquids are extremely hazardous to newly developing teeth, since they sit on the teeth in the infant’s mouth throughout the night.

When bacteria in the mouth come into contact with sugar, they produce an acid that eats away at young teeth.

There are still a few mom and dads who give their children something sweet at bedtime, since the sugars in the liquid help the infant go to sleep.

(Some mom and dads who even dip their children’s pacifiers in honey, corn syrup, or other thick sweeteners!)

This is a very old-fashioned practice, and one frowned upon by dentists for some time now.

But unfortunately some parents still aren’t aware that by putting baby to sleep with a sweet-tasting bottle, they are doing much more harm than good.

And because many parents don’t bring their children into the dentist for a check-up until they are a few years old, tooth decay caused by sweetened baby bottles or pacifiers is often left undiagnosed…

Until the child has severe, outwardly obvious signs of tooth decay that is!

So if you have small children, please keep in mind that it’s best to bring them in for a check-up between 12 and 24 months old. But let’s not get off the subject, let’s talk about you…

What You Can Do To Prevent Tooth Decay Starting Right NOW

There are essentially FOUR ways you can maintain oral health and prevent the onset of tooth decay…

  • Clean your teeth regularly to remove any plaque build-up before it turns deadly. It’s wise to brush your teeth twice a day – once in the morning and once in the evening – using a good quality toothbrush. It’s also necessary to floss to make sure your teeth are free of food particles that may be lodged between your teeth, since food particles provide a nice foothold for “bad” bacteria.

  • Use products that contain fluoride. Use a fluoride-infused toothpaste or mouth rinse to help counteract the effects of any harmful acids that may be present in the mouth.

  • Try to cut back on sweets and other sugary treats that contribute to the creation of acids in the mouth that wear away at your irreplaceable tooth enamel and spur on tooth decay.

  • Make an appointment with a reputable dentist at least every six months for a check-up and thorough cleaning.Just because you don’t feel pain doesn’t mean you don’t have tooth decay! A proper professional dental examination is essential!

Remember: It’s always easier and less expensive to prevent tooth decay than it is to treat it!

“Here’s The Most Important Step You Can Take For Vibrantly Healthy Teeth and Gums For Life…”

As an experienced dental professional, I’ve had to give many patients the unfortunate news that their tooth decay… that they didn’t even know was there… has progressed to a point that more invasive, expensive treatments are required to repair the damage.

And the unfortunate part is that this could have been avoided if they’d come in to see me earlier!

Because, if left neglected, minor tooth decay can lead to painful, unpleasant treatments like root canals or even permanent extraction of the tooth.

… And this is why it’s SO important that you maintain regular dentist appointments to catch any tooth decay as soon as possible!
